    Default Tried something different

Had quite a bit of thin sliced deer steak. Saw a recipe other day for German Rouladen. So today it happened, wife in the kitchen with me, and it was hilarious. About ready to kill each other lol!
With so much drama going on, did not attempt Spätzle or cabbage, just settled for some noodles, shells actually. But it came off decent, gonna order some butchers twine for next time instead of the toothpicks I used. Got some engineering to do on that dish Huh? I would lay into it just like it is. No Chronic Waste around you?

Yessir, as usual it didn’t turn out looking like the pretty pics in the recipe. But I’m trying to get past worrying about that. The mustard/pickle/onion thing is to my liking though, not something I’ve had before. I was hindered in the skillet stage with the toothpicks and them generally trying to come unrolled. I think trussed up w twine I can get them browned more to my liking.

The cwd, last map I saw from the state, it is close. Some reports on other side of the county. That is worrisome, I sure do like my deer!

Did you roll up bacon, mustard and relish in them. That's the recipe I got from my German born and raised MIL. We use thin sliced round steak. Betcha Slab's Mom knows a thing or 2 about them.

The recipe I ran across called for mustard, onion, and dill pickle slices.
Brown in skillet then simmer in water with a bouillon cube. The relish sounds good though, might try that next time.
