    Thank you for your kind comments. The onion ring batter I use is a store bought mix shown above. It is available at our local grocers for about a buck and I use half of the packet each cooking. I have tried many commercial mixes and homemade recipes and have found this one to be the families favorite. It sticks to the onion very nicely and fries up evenly and not mealy. My wife did not like my onion rings until she tried this batter, now she requests them when I fry fish. It uses water as the wet mix but I have substituted beer ( Corona Light) and the onion rings turned out even tastier!

    I am having trouble reading the brand on top of the bag ..........Foods. What is the first word in their name? Thanks for the help
