• Best day ever...

Yesterday I fished the Griffin Slabfest and won (FL FEB Slabfest). Took 6.5 hours to catch 5 legal fish the day after a 26 degree cold front came through. What a difference a day makes.

Today I took mom out for a boat ride. I bought one 14ft jigging pole with.

She told me exactly where the fish were.

I put on a Shinee Hinee and we were off to the races.

We caught 5 nice ones in less than 45 minutes. Shoulda taken mom with yesterday! This picture is actually her releasing the fish. We didn't keep any. She wanted to let them go to let them grow.

Best day ever. Got mom out on the boat, and we caught our Slabfest limit in 45 minutes. What more can one ask for.

She's funny. First off, she never thought she'd go out on the boat again, and now she's in front of me saying "we go once more". She says this time she won't take her water pill in the morning. We had to come in so soon cause of, well, you know why.

    Life is good.

Three hours later I posted this:

I told my guide I wanted my money back...

Went out with mom again and it took twice as long to catch 5 fish. Took 1.5 hours this time.

I think this is unbelievably fantastic. My 84 year old mom who thought she'd never go out on a boat again. Went fishing with me on the boat and we caught 5 fish in 45 minutes this morning (see above). Then in the afternoon she asked to go fishing again! Huh, what? Well, no problem mom. We went fishing, and caught five fish again. But it took twice as ling this time, 1.5 hours! lol

The funny thing is, we're gonna fish off the sea wall in about an hour for Bluegill. I'm fishing with mom 3 times today. Got to love her.

Theres a car in the background that floats. She got a kick out of seeing that!

My mom is also 84, not much of a boater, but loves sitting on the bank fishing for bluegills. Great pics, they tell the whole story with minimal verbiage needed. Thanks for posting, brought back some good memories for me.
