Window motor replacement
Well the motor went bad with the driver's side window. Sunday afternoon was a good time for me to replace it. I should have looked at Utube before starting. I thought the panel had push pins like the last I removed. Nope, it has hangers, I messed up the bottom 2. Then it was time to look at Utube. All replacements were with the regulator. After getting the regulator out I could see why. The cable is wrapped around a drum on the motor assembly a few times. $15 difference in price, I changed the regulator too. Total time was about 3 hours, including a trip to a second parts store for the regulator and time on Utube. Some videos didn't cover very much of total work needed for the replacement. The mirror control broke while removing the harness too.
Tuesday my grandson called, I'm headed to pull a part, want to go? I was dressed and had a tool bag ready when he got here. At the lot I was given a paper with location of 21 trucks like mine. My panel is grey and the only one matching was tan, didn't get it. The control had been removed and was broke too. Looking at another truck I got the windshield washer tank since mine has a hole and won't hold enough water to wash the window. Cost $19.
3 other pull a part centers in the Memphis TN area. Call to see if they may have a list of what they have before the longer drive to them.
