Did anyone else click on this just to see what a window motor was? I thought it was some kind of boat motor! I’m getting old.
Well the motor went bad with the driver's side window. Sunday afternoon was a good time for me to replace it. I should have looked at Utube before starting. I thought the panel had push pins like the last I removed. Nope, it has hangers, I messed up the bottom 2. Then it was time to look at Utube. All replacements were with the regulator. After getting the regulator out I could see why. The cable is wrapped around a drum on the motor assembly a few times. $15 difference in price, I changed the regulator too. Total time was about 3 hours, including a trip to a second parts store for the regulator and time on Utube. Some videos didn't cover very much of total work needed for the replacement. The mirror control broke while removing the harness too.
Tuesday my grandson called, I'm headed to pull a part, want to go? I was dressed and had a tool bag ready when he got here. At the lot I was given a paper with location of 21 trucks like mine. My panel is grey and the only one matching was tan, didn't get it. The control had been removed and was broke too. Looking at another truck I got the windshield washer tank since mine has a hole and won't hold enough water to wash the window. Cost $19.
3 other pull a part centers in the Memphis TN area. Call to see if they may have a list of what they have before the longer drive to them.

The grass withers and the flower fades, but the word of our God shall stand forever.
Remember when you had to work really hard turning that crank to get the window up and down??

Not sure what vehicle this is, but I don’t recall window motor and regulator changes to be too bad on a Nissan Titan—I’d expect most other pickups and SUVs to be similar. Of course, I’ve probably taken apart way too many Nissans for non-mechanics because of my job.
If I'm not at work or taking kids to their activities, you might find me on "The Rez" fishing. If not there, I could be in the garage working on my boat.
Newer equals harder or next to impossibleGlad you were able to get the motor fixed.

Got to look at the MS off topic board under Tumor to get an idea of what I'm going through. Things I do don't get a good thinking before it's to late mostly now. I did list this under Auto repairs, not general or boat repairs. It's a 2001 GMC Sierra 1500 Ext cab with 465,000 miles. Except for tire replacement all repairs have been done by me.
Since a panel couldn't be found I'm thinking of cutting 1/4" plywood in 3" circles or squares, paint them black or grey. Screw them to the hanger blocks through the panel. They will keep the panel from flopping when the door is opened or closed. When I do find a panel it will be easy to replace.

Loved those vent windows, added force to the 4 season air. Last I had was on a 72 Ford pickup.
I picked up a few dollars when I was 12 through 16 knowing how to remove the door panels and lubing the window crank. A little grease here and oil there.
