    Default Belcoe

went to belcoe near pendleton this afternoon...only caught 10 keepers but a few of them were gooduns including these two 16 inchers...caught them in the northern half of the lake trolling black/chartruse road runner pros in 6-7' of water....caught 18 keepers over there 6 days ago...same method using black/chartruse stump jumpers...they seem to like a spinner...had 7 between 14 - 16 inches on that day....beware of the buffalo gnats if you go...they will tote you off

Thanks for the report and pic, GG. Those are definitely some good'uns. Thinkin' I might need to drag the boat with me down South this weekend.

And on a sidenote, anybody have an ideas about finding some shellcrackers at Cane Creek? I'm thinkin' there should be some nice ones in there.

I take it you're fishing open water. I can't seem to keep the RR's from snagging up often.

You sure have the technique. Are you long lining or pushin the RRs?

Great mess o' fish. BTW, get yourself a thermocell and you won't have any more trouble from no-see-'ums.

thanks for the comps aj...yes...i usually fish the road runners and stump jumpers in open water...i fish from an older stick steer fiberglass that i've completely restored...i have 3 rod holders mounted on the gun wales on each side towards the bow within arms reach and two on each side of the bow mounted trolling motor...i usually push 8 lines and in these case no deeper than 3-4' trolling at 1/2-3/4 mph...i had alot of success earlier over at grand lake using the same method....during the prespawn/spawn, i had rather fish for the girls out in a little bit deeper water since it's usually crowded in shallow with folks trying to catch the males..i looked at the thermacells today while in wally world and will have one before i go back to the delta.
