Worked the brush along the shoreline, caught 6 keepers and one 16" walleye.
Dad's chompin at the bit to go back.
Glad you had a good time with your dad. Good to see a G3 in the back ground :D

I know you two had a great time! And, hey--you even caught a few fish.

I'd give anything to have just one more fishing trip with my Daddy.

Take him while you still can, buddy.

    Default Sons Follow the Example

All you boys follow the example and load us Dads in the boat and take us fishing. It is also permissable for you to pick up the tab....:D
If the good Lord is willing and the creeks dont rise I'll catch a slab today.

I would love to be able to take my Dad fishing again. He has been gone 20 years and I still miss him.

Taking my dad fishing on Greers Ferry tomorrow. It will only be our second trip together.

Your stained water is always going to warm faster than the clear stuff.

We have got surface temps all over the map out here right now. The majority of the fish have NOT spawned yet and this weekend's 20+ MPH south wind is going to be fun. Gotta chase the green carp for the derby this weekend. I had the long rod in my hands the last couple of days with marginal sucess. Devil's fork is pumping with current and we saw very few crappie's landed in there on the flats. Sugar Creek Camp area was slow as well.

Question I Believe The Females Have Done Their Do

Fished very hard yesterday and today not much luck. Wind has been rough. Caught 18 today, good crappie but not major slabs. Everyone of them were males. Fished in BB, front eadge of BB and out in deeper water. Everyone we caught was out in water that was 5 to 10 feet. No one catching any females. I am not expert, but I think it is overwith for this year. There may be a few stragglers, but for the most part I think we are through with the spawn, good or bad.....good I hope. What do you guys think?

I went out to choctaw this morning and fished until about noon. My dad and I just finished cleaning 13 big slabs and all except two were females with eggs. We caught all the big ones in 10-20FOW.

How deep were you catching them?

The ones that were in 10 FOW I was fishing about two feet under a cork. The ones in 20 FOW I fished about 10 feet down. The wind blew us off the lake about noon or else I think we would have gotten a limit.
