Thread: Livewell

If you have a water tight aluminium box in a boat, how would you turn it into a livewell. Would you drill a hole in the boat floor--it is a double floor---these aluminium boxes get pretty hot in the summer, just a thought--gets rid of a ice cooler in the boat. I like my boat it is heavy duty and great in the stumps and shallow water

Some boat companies have conversion kits available to turn these boxes it livewells. I'd be careful drilling a hole in the bottom of the boat, need to make sure whatever goes through the hole is threaded on both ends so you can seal it off and tighten it down. Might be able to insulate the top to help reduce heat.
