    Default Clear lake/Plum Bayou

Plum bayou has been up and down lately, all the water fluctuations have kept me off it. Not to mention that its so dang muddy. Clear lake on the other hand is hit or miss right now. I swear these fish havent spawned out. Caught the heck out of em last week, but last trip or two not so good.Caught them shallow but seems that right when they were gonna go nuts we had that real cool weather blow in.This next week should tell the tale. I see good warm weather ahead. What bout you guys , anything similiar happening to yall. Anybody fishin water that may have spawned out? Not seeing alot of posts of great fishin lately, at least not central ark.

    Barry,

I have been to Plum Bayou 3 times and there was not one fish removed from there when I went. I have never had much luck.

You may want to get with C.E.B. he is one of the Clear Lake experts.

I have a Brother-in-Law that lives on the Old River and he has been doing pretty good spiderrigging in 5 feet of water. I haven't heard any reports on Clear Lake or Plum Bayou.

Got a good report today from a guy at work that has been fishing Clear Lake. He's been doing fair but he said that several days that he was there a guy would start wade fishing right a the ramp and fish behind the cypress trees on the back side of the lake. My buddy said that guy was killin' 'em!

Fished Clear Lake this morning with a buddy. Picked up two from 7 a.m. to about 1 p.m. One 8 ft deep in 12 f.o.w. and another in the shallows. Caught a bunch of yellow bass and bream. A 20 lb Drum and a couple of little bass. Couldn't figure the crappie out. Tried jigs, minnows, jigs with minnows, shallow deep close to structure, in the open, near grass....you get the picture. Frustrating, I don't have a clue if they have spawned or not.

I also went this morning from about 8 til noon and only caught two crappie, several bream and a few bass but went friday before the rain and caught a dozen or so good ones all over a pound. Maybe it will get better in a few days with the dry weather.
