cat just got home sorry did call shoud have been home long time ago we will get together an go may be off some next week whats ur work look like
No problem, i usually travel every week and home on weekends. just keep my number and let me know. thanks
Coondog, Conway is very stumpy and i DO NOT recommend using the big motor for more than a slow idle until you learn the lay of the lake, the boat lanes or marked....kind of....you still get a floating or drifting log in the boat lane ever now and then. It is a great lake to fish and i don't want to discourage you from going in anyway, i just want to make sure you don't make a conway rookie mistake, hit a boat trail, put it on pad and end up with a busted lower unit, cracked transom and whiplash.
Good luck!

I could not agree more. When I moved to LR 4 years ago, I made two trips to Lake Conway in the first few months of living here. I went up to Palarm a few times, stayed on stumps the majority of the time. I got so fed up that I just gave up on the lake.
That's until I found out about Gold Creek. I really like going there just because you don't have to worry about any (well just a few) stumps as long as you fish up in the pool. There's also a great ramp that will launch a big fiberglass boat without any problems. And best of all, glad to see that a few members are getting together to fish...you just never know what you might find. I still can't get Gooch to quit callin' me a few times a week...
The lanes are marked better now than ever before. But, there are still stumps and floaters to worry about. We owe a dept of gratitude to the local bass clubs for clearing and marking the boat lanes during the last two draw downs. I feel pretty confident about opening 'er up.....after 1 skag, one prop, and one trolling motor.
Gold Creek will be hot for a few months. Dano at the landing can keep you informed there. Out in the main lake try Gold Point.
Before I learned about Gold Creek, I used to put in at Paradise and fish the first point all the way around to the in first cove. Always did pretty well casting toward the bank.
