Dipping jigs or slip floating...I am guessing that the water is clearer than Okie waters .
If your water is murkier than Millwood, I would assume you could walk on it. Average visibility on Millwood is about 8-10 inches in the main lake, and about 12 - 18 inches in the river. There are some places with better vis, but that's the norm.
Any tips or hints to help me gear up for the trip is greatly appreciated. I am really looking forward to this trip and hoping to put Dad on some good crappieA.
In late March if the water temp is right, it can be a matter of finding some cypress in shallow flats of the river channel. Just check the base of each tree. They're not hard to find, there are literally 10's of thousands of cypress trees. Also in the main creeks where the grass and pads are starting to germinate can be good.
lso is there a place close to the lake to buy fishing licenses. Thanks for any help.
Wal Mart about 10 minutes from the lake, also Millwood State Park Marina on the lake both have fishing licenses. You can also order online from AGFC ( Ark. Game and Fish Commision)
Tight Lines.
