Default Lake Greeson here I come

I know alot of you fish this great lake. I am heading down Friday morning for the first time to give it a try. Any hints you pro's can give a Greeson rookie. I was really wanting to make the Fall fishing camp but I will be stuck moving my dock out on Lake Hamilton to avoid the draw down which starts same weekend as fall fishing camp. Best place to launch coming in from 70west out of Hot Springs? Best places to fish? Bait shop open early and where? Thanks for any input and hope to see some of you out there maybe.

    Hey Arg:

I'm on the North Rim of The Grand Canyon right now so Darryl will have to give you the latest fishing report but I'll be back and fishing Friday and Saturday.

I would recommend putting in at Self Creek Boat Ramp, which is right on Highway 70 just past Daisy on your left. Self Creek Marina is right across the channel from the boat ramp and they have bait. They don't open up until 8:00 but Darryl and I can help you get bait if you get there before we head out. We both slip our boats there and probably won't head out before 7:30.

Bring some extra bouy markers and I'll be glad to mark some spots for you to fish to get you started.

    Jerry,

Thanks so much for you hospitality. We will try and launch around 7:30am or so and will keep am eye out for you. My friend and I will be in a 17' WarEagle camo color. I am driving a White Chevrolet Avalanche. Have a safe trip back and hope you had a nice trip. If you need anything while I am heading that way from Little Rock/Hot Springs please let me know. Fishing Report -- BRUSHPILES and BAMBOO CONDOS!!! In it not around it. Bite is light but with depth control and boat control you can harvest a nice mess. A mixed bag of small to above average crappie are being caught 10-15' deep in 18-25' of water. Like Jerry said, bring extra bouy markers and we'll mark some for ya.

Thumbs up True "Fishers of Men"

I just wanted to comment on the kindness and how helpful Jerry and Darryl are. How many fishing guides do you guys and gals know that would mark fishing spots with bouys on their home lake they are guiding on?

I had a successful fishing trip with Darryl in 07 and stayed in the onsite camper on Greeson when Jerry brought some great "crappie dip" to the camper.

Thanks to both you guys for your hard work and efforts for crappie camps, your valuable input on this board, and for all your contributions for the sport we all love.

I agree on how helpful Jerry and Darryl are. We (Nine of us) will be their on the 18th for 6 days. I know of no other guides that are that helpful. We are very lucky to have crappie.com members like them. Darryl we will be with you Monday hope to learn a few more tricks.

I have to echo the above sentiments. Jerry and Darryl are two of the nicest and most helpful people I have ever known.

    Hey Michael:

Come on over to the marina store/dock at Self Creek after you launch. I won't be heading out with my crew until 8:00 but I can get you some minnows and point you in the right direction until we get started. It looks like the weather is going to be great this weekend.
