    Default I Survived another......

The wife and I took the kids back to Ouachita again last week. We arrived Wed morning (6-11) and stayed until Sunday. We were on island number 10. My sister brought her husband and daughter and my father from Houston Tx. I fileted over one gallon of bream for them to take home. I can't say that I ever did pattern any fish the whole time I was there. I did see some brush that was interesting I will check out another day; I didn't want anybody to get bored while I was "fishing".

The only critters that got into our camp this time was a mama and poppa mallard. They were not bashful about getting into the bread. So, we started leaving scraps for them, then they stayed out of the good stuff.

I started communicating with Jesus Fri night during the storm. It got pretty rough around us. I am sure number 9 get hit several times by lightning. Fortunately, we were spared.

I never did find anything that I could identify as beds. In fact I remember only two with eggs. That is why I am puzzeled at the reports saying they will spawn this moon. I wished I could give you a professional report and say "I patterned them this way....". All of them were in less than 12' of water. They were here one day and gone the next. Afternoons and evenings were the best times. I used roostertails (black or firetiger) and crickets.

Bro-in-law got 2nd degree burns on his honkey white legs. Too hard headed for the SPF 50. Be careful.
