Very impressive crappie. I had one to show also but I......ummm.....seemed to have misplaced it. What a hog! Thanks for sharing.

With it being in a freezer that long and considering most all of the moisture has been removed from the fish and it still weighs 4 lbs, it is not a stretch at all to say that it weighed well over 5 lbs when it was alive.

    Incredible fish!!

I cant say for sure what the real live weight was. All i know is what i was told..The taxidermist said that the man that caught it does not care about recognition for it.He also said the same man caught one last year that weighed 4 10...

I saw the crappie shortly after it was taken in and on the same scales it weighed 4lbs 8ozs when we weighed it. I was told it weighed 4lbs 9ozs when it was first weighed at the taxidermists shop and this was after 3 hours in an ice chest. The same angler had caught nearly an identical crappie previously but ate it!

The biggest crapie that I have caught so far has been a couple of 2 1/2 lbers. It is truly amazing to see just how big these things can get!

    Hi Shot,
Not trying to step on your toes..."D" is a good friend of mine and we weighed it just a few days after he took it in. By the way, those are some awesome pics that you took.
I hope to get some pics of it finished before it leaves the shop. I know that he'll do an awesome mount!
