I thought you were going to talk about the dog we had fishing with us on Saturday. We had a great time by the way.

Wrong! My lab is about 24 in. and 70 lbs. She was taught to lie down in the boat when the motor's running, but when it stops she can move around. I fish out of a 14 ft. jon and we get along really well. She always is ready to go, never gripes about the action, and loves to lick the fish. Only downside: she drinks water when she gets excited, which is about every time I catch one. That means we have to stop at a dock or the shore every so often to let her pee. One time I didn't do that, and her 'accident' in the boat almost filled it up!

I have a friend who takes his lab to the lake with him. When the lab is in need of a nature call it jumps off the boat swims to shore, takes care of business and swims back to the back of the boat and walks up the ladder. Slickest thing I have ever seen.
