Wink High water @ Greeson and everywhere!

Water water everywhere and not a fish to bite! That tells you what I have been catching here on Lake of the Ozarks--have only fished a very bit here since the water looks so bad with all of the dirty-looking stuff floating in the water.

But looking at your websites-current fishing trips--Jerry Blake and Darryl Morris, you guys have been really doing a great job getting your clients on the fish!

What is your secret to fishing high, off-colored-almost muddy water?

High and fluctuating water combined with silt and mud certainly makes it more difficult. However, though it will negatively affect things it still doesn't override their strong instinct to spawn. Therefore, they are running in and out of the shallows looking for the right conditions to spawn (warm and clear water). Sometimes that warm and clear is merely relative to the rest of the lake. That's where they'll be and give you a greater chance at catching some. We've been working known spawning areas and some new ones now that the lake is so high at a pretty good clip. When you catch one, slow down and work the immediate area in detail. Sometimes you only catch one but other times you might get 4-5 or more from the same spot.

With Nimrod up over the spillway several feet it's s=l=o=w to say the least. Even the yoyo crowd is have'n very little luck. We are catching a few keepers below the dam in eddies along the banks.
