    Default Georgetown

Do we have any members in the Georgetown area? About 15 years ago we use to fish a ditch in a bean field that was flooded by the White River and caught white bass until your arms hurt, just wondering if you can fish there now.

I don't know about the ditch in the bean field, but Joann cooks up some of the best catfish you'll ever eat at the Georgetown One Stop. All you can eat with a drink for about 8 bucks.
    Gotta love it!

    Default bean field

I am not sure what the river has to be at georgetown in order for the bean field to be flooded. I have fished it in the past and caught a lot of white bass like you said. I would almost bet white river has to be around 21 ft on the gtown gauge to be backed up that far. You might call the AGFC folks at the Steve Wilson WMA and ask them. They have to go that route to get to their office. If you are in the area, the catfish Miss Joann cooks up is hard to beat.

I got relatives (through my wife) out at Georgetown. However, I think they usually just fish Barbara Lake.

I haven't heard any ditch fishing stories or I'd be up there looking around for ditches to fish!

I fish the White & Cache River bottoms (sloughs, drainage ditches, creeks, oxbows) from Augusta to Des Arc, not much going on right now, water conditions not to good at present, caught lots of crappie in Nov & Dec.
Should get good as soon as water stabilizes.
