A cold front this time of year can mess them up for a day or too but if it brings a lot cooler weather that drops the water temps they'll usually settle down in a few days and bunch up on deeper cover than they have been.

Well, after that big cold front went through yesterday we had to work hard to find them today. We caught crappie from 11 to 29-feet deep - that's what we call "scattered". We ended up cleaning 29 but most of them were pretty small.
What part of the Boston Mountains are you interested in? There are lakes all over Arkansas and most of them have crappie in them.
on hwy 71 near Mountainburg.Or any lakes on hwy 71 south of Y-CITY.

There are several good crappie lakes south of Y city including, DeQueen, Dierks, Gillham and Millwood. Lake Greeson where I do most of my guiding is about 60 miles southeast of Y city.Originally Posted by HEMPHILLCREEK-1
