anyone have any ideas of where/how to bait a good catfish hole? I heard about it and thought I might try my luck.

I agree with Gooch! NIMROD knows catfish! I've heard that the catfish bite is picking up here on Lake Nimrod. The wife and I chased a lost noodle down and it had about a 5 lb. channel cat on it. We just left it alone and they eventually found and retrieved it.
I talked to NIMROD this weekend but I didn't ask if he had started baiting cats yet.

Tons of ingredients you can use.Sour wheat, corn, just about any grain..whatever is cheapest at the feed store...can even use the cheapo 50# bag of wal-mart dog food.To sour the grain, fill a 5 gallon bucket 3/4 full, add a gallon of boiling water, set in sun with a loose lid for 3 days(down wind of house)
Find a deep isolated spot in the lake near a shallow flat,or an old creek channel, start throwing about 5 pounds a day for 3 days before you are fishing.
In-fisherman had a good "How To' about 5 years ago...try a google search for catfish chumming.
    Sorry I'm not Nimrod.

Sweetfeed is the easiest ,but soured grain works too. Try around channel drops with stumps or other cover.:D

I got some sweet feed soaking in the sun right now. I'm going to start throwing some out Sunday afternoon but still have a few questions.

First how long is too long to let it sit? If it needs 3 days to sour is 5 days to much? I was hoping to just make 3 buckets full and use them Sunday thru mid week next week.

Second what type bait do you use to catch the kittys, after the hole is baited?

Third how long will the bait keep fish coming to an area? I was going to put some out Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednsday and was wondering if they would still be in the area next Saturday? Planning on taking a crew of kids up next weekend and want them to enjoy some catching instead of just fishing.

Finaly I see one post suggest putting out 5 pounds of the stinkin mess per hole. Just wondering again if more is better as I was hoping to just put one 5 gallon bucket full one one hole.

You don't sour the sweet feed. Just pour it in. I use a sack first time and a 5 gallon bucket full every day or two.

I put some out WITHOUT sitting in a bucket for 3 or 4 days and now I have about 30 nice turtles swimin around the dock keepin the bottom clean. There are lots of bream comin in as well. But no cats yet. Guess I need to do it right.

Don't sour the sweet 10. Only sour straight grains. You need to book a low cost trip with me to learn. Bring your son and total cost for a 1/2 day trip right now is 75.00 a trip. I furnish boat , tackle ,and bait . We fish 4 hours or till limited out.( REGULAR 1/2 DAY PRICE IS 100.00 AND 150.00 FULL DAY FOR 2 ) But will dress your fish for extra 10.00 if you like. If you need references PM slabless or M1Tommy. Both of these members have been with me on a trip this week. Limits of nice fish have not been a problem.
