I quit
but only for a while. I have fished 2 days a week sometimes three, sometimes four days since last November. It is time to get some things done around the house.
I have been fishing Reelfoot Lake the last three or four weekends and have been doing pretty good. Yesterday I caught my limit there all fish were over a pound. I probably caught 50 fish. Though it took me till 4 pm. I was fishing in the lilly pads so yall know that kind of fishing is slow and tough. No telling how many I lost. Every fish fish I caught yesterday were males. I wonder where the females went cause I don't think they haven spawned out. I did see alot of small fry swimming around. I caught one male whose tail was almost gone from fanning the bed. I wished I had my camera to let yall see. I have never seen one in this bad of shape before, the boy was surely trying to impress the ladies.
I'm going to fish up there next weekend for two days then I'm taking a rest. I have about 1000 feet of PVC and plenty of buckets to make some attractors. Chris I'm wanting to put them in Horseshoe. I wonder if I can legally? I guess I had better e-mail AG&F to find out.

Hey Rusty, I'd call that crappie fatigue...:D
I know that's some tough fishing in the lily pads. That will definately test a man's sanity. But, it looks like it paid off well for you.
It seems kinda fishy that you only caught males. Maybe the females are holding out a little deeper and/or at the edge of the pads? Or maybe the females are up there with the males, but aren't defending the nests (so they aren't the ones to bite).
And for placing cover in Horseshoe, I don't see who would have a problem with it. You might want to wait and see how much the water comes up or if it even comes up at all...
