    Default Back from Reelfoot (Busted)

Well guys, we got a big zero at the foot. The winds were blowing up to 30mph, it was cold and rainy. We decided to pull out Saturday (a day early) because the forcast for Saturday was the same as Friday (more rain and cold). Talked to Gatorbait yesterday by phone, he got there late Friday, and he said it was tough fishing Saturday with the wind and rain, but he did somehow manage to catch a good mess. I guess I'm just not very good at crappie fishing. Can't seem to get the all the elements together at the same time. Anyhow, wife and I did have fun and got some quality time with each other. Better luck next time.:p I have to say that as an RV park, I can't recommend Sportsman's North. The campsites were full of water and mud and the hookups were inadequate to say the least. I would say to stay somewhere else if you go the foot.

Hey FF....Sorry you didn't catch any fish on your trip. I fished on Fri. and know the tough conditions you faced. Don't give up....you'll get into a bunch of them soon I bet. It's just been a hit and miss year so far. I'm glad you and your wife had a fun and safe trip any way.

We really fished hard. We tried the trees, flats, deep and shallow, we also drifted with bobbers and then drifted tight lines. Nothing worked for us, but I don't intend to give up. I didn't learn to trout fish in the first 6 months, but over several years. Now, I would consider myself somewhat of an expert on the White River, altho I can't wade the stream anymore, I can still manage to catch em with the right fly. So crappie look out, I'm on your trail. LOL

Sorry the bite wasn't there for you, at least you and the wife got to spend some time together.
You can't fish with a hung line!

This is a 50/50 debate...I am minnowman, therefore I KNOW how to catch them on live bait...however, with jigs I am finding that having an arsenol of diff. shapes, sizes, variations is just as good...it's fun the challenge of 'scouting' them at the same time you are catching them....haha! I see your point though....Later, MM.

but we have a ball and the weather is usually a lot
    better. Good luck next time.

You sure it was 30 mph winds, I was guessing 35 to 40. No way in heck I was getting on the lake sunday. I did fish today and managed to get 8. Very frustrating day ,but beautiful.

    Lets try again next weekend......:D
