    Default Conway Redears

Me and Lil'J finally got into them this morning in Adams cove, sat anchored in one spot from 7-9am and caught 44 then they quit like somebody turned off a switch. I didn't find a female in the bunch, all in about a foot of water on a brown/black Dynamax jig. Nothing really big but them lil' boogers sure go ballistic when they realize their hooked. The water is strangely clear for this time of year, we downsized our line to 4lb and it really sped up the bite.

Hey there LazyJ, How heavy are those dynamax jigs. I've never tried them but I hear that they are awesome on redears and bream.

I have a big Redear bed in my front yard under a willow tree. I sat in a chair down there yesterday afternoon and watched them for about 30 minutes.

It is full of big males right now that are steadily fanning the old beds out. It is neat to watch them flare their gills out and flash that red patch when another male approaches "their" bed.

I guess the full moon got them in the mood for getting things read for action!

Hey Heavy, I got into there last Thursday evening. I was using the black/chart dynamax and fishing the little coves near the ramp. I picked up around 20 in not too long of time. Same thing with me, not a female in the bunch. But had a fun time catching them. I was trying to find some crappie, but ended up catching these.

Dynamax jigs - two weeks ago Hatchet Jack's got in a huge supply. He was boasting to me he had a couple dozen of all 100 some odd varieties in all sizes 1/16, 1/32, and 1/64. I've had a touch time finding any in the 1/16 crappie-size so I stocked up bigtime. I went back in there Saturday and his pegboard was half-empty.

I don't think they use big enough hooks in any of the sizes. We lost several fish but we also had several bust up completely out of the water before the jig had even got wet.

Lazy J, they have the bream and crappie dynamax's at Bates Field and Stream. Quite a few. Picked me up quite a few last week. :D
