I've been reading this site for awhile and thought it was about time to become a member. I moved to Batesville last summer and have been trying out different places in the area, but I can't quit comparing it to the Mississippi River oxbows where I'm use to fishing in southeast Arkansas and still fish. Does anyone have any crappie info on Greers Ferry or Norfork?

Welcome aboard. You're moving as far away in the spectrum as possible if you want to fish Norfork or Greers Ferry. That area of the state is lacking in small acreage quality fisheries.

If you like old oxbows, be sure to give some of these places a try...Shirey Bay, Horseshoe, St. Francis river, The Bottoms outside of Lepanto, and Poinsett.

If you want to drive a little further, try the old oxbows outside of West Memphis. Horseshoe and Midway will probably be your best bets.

Welcome Krappie K, hang out here just a little while and these guys will rub off on you and you'll be fishing instead of wishing. I am in central Arkansas over close to Yellville, and fish Bull Shoals, and will soon try Norfork. I think Gurbby has some experience with Norfork.

Welcome to the board from lower Arkansas. What oxbows do you fish in S.E. Arkansas. I fish a lot of them, I am in Monticello and work near Arkansas City.

    A bad day of fishing
beats a good day at work.
