    Default Old Town Lake

ought to be getting right about now. Definitly by first of March. I'm headed there this weekend for two days.

I got my prescriptions filled so in a couple of days, I ought to be calmed down some by then so, there will be no sudden outburst of stupidity coming from me.

I thank everyone for the phone calls, e-mails, and pm's asking if I'm ok.

Someone have a 3x tee shirt made with text " Village Idiot" on it and I will gladly wear it.

I can't beleave you are fessing up to that. Tell everybody you were joking. I told my wife about it. After I explained what spawning was, she wondered what the time change had to do with it too. Thanks Buddy. It was my laugh of the day.

Well to my only defense I was heavily under the influence and sometimes I have all kinds of crap running through me mind before I can get it cyphered out. And we'll not get into that. I keep forgetting about the old saying it is better to be a fool and be silent, blah blah blah.....However, I'm glad I made someone laugh and also think that dayum idiot. I didn't do us'en southerners good.

I sure will I have a good feeling about it there this weekend, though it is supposed to be nasty in this area Saturday. I'll probably take my yoyo's just in case some people try to crowd me out. I have been trying to talk those lazy bums of buddies i have into going with me, but no, they want to play golf...bunch of sissy's they are I tell you.

I have been interested in fishing Old Town ever since I ran into a fellow at Mellwood who said he slayed the crappie there in Feb. & March. He said he fished on the shallow side on the bank 2 feet deep or less. He didn't fish those cypress trees that are all over the lake. Is that how you do it & which parts of the lake are best?

Blair, I actually spend most of my time on the end of the lake closer to Elaine. I have never put a compass on it. Yes, I fish the Cypress trees, I have better luck there. Also, I fish this lake real slow. So, get out your waders during spawn.I'll probably start wading 1st week of March, fish a couple of weeks or more and make my way back closer to the house.

However, I keep hearing people talking about fishing the east end and wearing them out, I have fished it and not down as good. If you don't like yoyo's this lake is not for you, you will have to fish around them.
Also, expect to be checked by the gamewarden and he will count your fish.
