Went out to Conway today to get some revenge from our stalk on Saturday. The winds were pretty gusty, but I couldn't resist the warm temps. Surface temp has risen 5 degrees and will continue to climb this week.
Fish were much more active today. I got out there around 7:30. They were bitin' pretty fast and hard from the time I got out there until 9:00. They were right on the bottom. Today, they preferred a single small rosie on a hook. A few hit larger shiners and tipped jigs, but the majority hit small rosies. Almost all of the fish came from the mouth of the cove. Had a pair of bigger fish at 13" and the rest were around 10-11". Had a limit of 20 fish by 10am and culled fish until 11am. Gave away some rosies and 8 crappie to a guy as I was comin' out. He seemed pretty happy with the transaction.
Had plenty of juice for the camera today, so I took several pics...
The wind was whoopin' and a couple of sprinkles came through...
Fish were much more active today. For the first time in awhile, they were actually swimming around the livewell instead of just turning up on their sides...
I had Dan at the launch take a photo to prove that there are crappie out there...
Oh yeah...Big Easy...
Those 12 that I took home will make a pretty good spot in the oil...
