Don't take this wrong, I am really glad you are at a point in your life that you can enjoy some quality fishing time when THE REST OF US WORK. At least you ain't on welfare (I don't think). Maybe in the future you will be sending us pictures of the welfare babies you deliver or the knife wounds you sew up while we are retired and fishing everyday. And to top it off you didn't have to pay for your new rod.(LOL)

Keep it up though. Maybe you can solve the mystery of where those crappie go in about another month. We need to get some boo in some other spots I have been wanting to work on.

Yep, you hit the nail on the head Don. Within the next couple of years, my fishing trips are gonna be drastically reduced. I know this, and I've come to cope with it.

For right now, all we have going on at school are lectures. Ah hell, I've been in school now for so long...I can teach the material to myself. So for right now, I head to the lake whenever I get a chance. Being able to take spur of the moment trips is very good for this time of year. You can make pretty good predictions for each day in a series of frontal passages. And, every lake is much more beautiful on a weekday.

    I can't wait for retirement...

Hey Chris, after meeting you at Larto I had thought about this, when you are through with college and who knows where, how will you ever find the time to fish? I know the Executives here where I work eat, sleep, live with their cell phones and work 6-7 days per week. I had always thought Drs. do the same. The execs here vacation with their familys 2-3 weeks out of the year and they always go to other countries or skiing, Florida etc. You will be the only one we all know who goes "CRAPPIE FISHING"! Hope you have a very understanding wife!:D

There are two things to aim for in life: First, to get what you want; and after that, to enjoy it. Only the wisest of mankind achieves the second. Author unknown, but I like it!

Hey Steve, a friend of the my family is a surgeon in my hometown. He get's every Wed. off and is on call 1 weekend per month. Doesn't sound like a bad deal to me. I'm just wondering how to explain going fishing instead of playing golf...:D

My wife-to-be is a very understanding gal, so far. I got her in the front of the boat with me yesterday, and she seemed to enjoy watchin' her poles and catchin' crappie. I may have just found a replacement for the Goocher...

    Thanks for the pictures.
I love weekday mornings on the lake. All the older retired gentlemen are out there BSin' more than fishin'. And, they weren't too happy with me when I pulled out of there with my limit by 10am. I can hear 'em now...dam young whippersnapper with all them poles out catchin' all of our fish...:D

Gave the crappie and rosies to a young guy as I was headed back to the boat ramp. He was working hard for them crappie with a scullin' paddle and jig pole. He didn't have much to show for his hard work, so I gave him a nice mess and some tips for catching them.

"So Far" is some big words. For some reason them weddin rings cause women to start complaining about you fishin and makes them refuse to go themselves.

I proposed to my wife on Lake Ouachita. We were out there camped on an island for a fishing weekend. She had helped me set a trot line out and several limb lines between bass fishing. We went at least every other weekend that summer. We got married the next summer and I dont think she's been back on a fishing trip 5x in the last 10 years.

You need to get a pre nup that states she will allow a minimum number of fishing days a year and that she will go with you a minimum number of times a year. I sure wish I had.
