When we got tired of that we'd head up to the family farms in Concord and catch coolers full of bluegill, often on just plain hooks.

We always stopped just outside Pangburn on 124 and tried to catch trout with corn, but not with much success. Always did better around my uncle's property near Ramsey access.

The Searcy area indeed has some great waters, just depends upon what you're anglin' for.
My folks are from Judsonia, moved away before I was born then moved back after dad retired in '92. I have some family in the area too, everyone lives out in the country with either a Judsonia or Bald Knob address. We mostly fished farm ponds when I was a kid, but would sometimes fish the Little Red river where a good sized creek joined the river, and we occasionally fished Party Creek. We used to catch a lot of fish in the Little Red, one of my cousins was the master on trout. I'd usually fish the creek and catch warm water fish. We caught some walleye in the river too.

Ive duck hunted hurricane and Cache river, but don't remember ever fishing at either one.

Small World.
