Surprising...You know in the spring when the river usually gets into the oxbows, it's from the ice melting up north. It's really cold then; sometimes you even see ice floating down the river. Warmer river water entering the oxbow will make 'em jump in the boat.

When you were at Midway last (before filling back up). What did the buckbrush look like? Was there any grass growing in the dried up places? Just wondering if the new water would send 'em scurrying towards the shallows.
