February Nightstalk

I'm on call the weekends of Feb. 4th and 18th. . I'll strong arm my boss somewhat about my having to be in Little Rock because of some lame personal reason..if you have it on a weekend I'm on call.

Gooch, I promise I can take all the azz chewing comes my way. Thanks for the invite.

Chris, I bet the river has gotten into Midway, I'll be fishing it before long, when the wind is right. I think i'm going to get up in the morning and go to Horseshoe. I finally got my boat to where I can fish out of it. I have some more carpeting to do.

Right now the long range weather forcast for next weekend looks bad, and of course it is my weekend off. I need to get out there bad so if it is not snowing or something I willl probably be there on Maumell creek on saturday.

I have no condos at this time, but would be glad to come and fish...with a broken hip I have not done much in the past few months....except lay around. Keep me posted, I voted on the last weekend in February...only b/c that would be best with my job...are you talking about meeting on a Friday night and fishing that night or what? Would I need to miss any work if I work M-F 0600-1600? Let me know, thanks guys, can't wait...sounds fun!

Minnowman no need for a condo. I can get one put together in your name for you. Just come fish and visit with us and have a good time. I can build condos, but I can't catch fish that well like CEB. Got that part covered.

That's awfully generous, from what I hear the whole crew down there is generous....like us Arkansan Yankees up to your Northwest! That sounds great, as soon as we get a date, let me know so I can ask off if I need to. If it's going to be starting on a Friday night I could get there by about 8 p.m. and stay until Sunday night without missing any work. Thanks again...I"ll try and remember to keep checking the post to see about a finalized date/time. So CEB is the crappie slaughterer where this is being held, eh? Good news!

Well I am glad to be back on US soil, and back to planning a crappie trip. Some of the post I have read concern me and I want to set a few things straight.

First of all this is not a weekend event or even an all day event. I would just die if somoene drove 5 hours to fish with us and found we were only fishing one evening thinking this was another version of crappie camp. We are just trying to get some of the crappie.com guys and gals to come out and get a chance to meet and greet one another.

Secondly we are wanting to get some folks interested in sinking some brush or condos out there so we will all have a centraly located place to run out and fish some known structures. I know many of you would fish several times more a year if you had a few hours to kill and could run out and fish a top or two if you knew were some were.

Finaly it looks like the 17th is going to be the date of the stalk. It should be good then as the moon will be a new moon and the dark should help us. Obviously this date could change only with forcasted high winds or rain. If we had to push it back a weekend we would probably shoot for the second choice in the poll.

Folks I want to stress that we might not catch a fish on this thing. Hey thats fishing. The only promises that I or CEB will make is that we will cook, and we will make every attempt at puting everyone on a good spot.

Sounds like a plan! If there is a friendly wager on hand, we'll be sure to dock Team Gooch a couple of pounds to even things out. Can't wait to get out there and raise heil on the Little Maumelle...

I am sure glad you clarified this...I was under the impression it was a "weekend event"....hmmm...this may change things, that's an awfully long drive to head up there and turn around and drive right back home...I'll ponder this and get back to you all....thanks Gooch for the clarification. MM

I think Vince will be able to go, but I'll be out I've got plans to go to the Horse races with several friends that weekend....Parents weekend out...Have a great time and I'll see most of you at CC...

Either one of those nights looks good with me. Question. What time do we start and what time does it end? (I gotta have some details around this thing so I can present it to my wife:D )
