I talked with the lake manager and they will begin the drawdown this coming Monday and it they will have the water control structure open for about a month. He estimated the lake to drop about 5 feet! Does anyone know if you can launch a boat or he a fish stocking truck close enough when it is 5 feet low? Thanks.

I wasn't here in 2010 for the last drawdown so I can't speak from experience, but a five feet draw down might make it tough. Conway does a nice job maintaining those three launches at the park there but I think that little cove only gets to about 10-12 feet out past the no-wake buoys according to my electronics. I don't know how far out those ramps go or how the bottom is there.
There's another private access launch on the eastern side for the home owners there, but that area is even shallower.
Does the AGFC regularly stock Beaverfork? I use to see Joe Mosby's reports on it in the local paper years ago but sadly not anymore. I miss talking to Joe.
We regularly stock channel cats but that is it. We stocked black crappie last year and will this year as part of a state wide study being conducted by UAPB and ATU. They are trying to figure out if stocked crappie actually contribute to the population or is it just a drop in the bucket compared to what the lake is producing. Another student will be examining predators (large mouth bass) to see how many of the stocked crappie are being eaten near the ramp. I suspect on Beaverfork that the majority will be eaten. We shall see...

Matt, I've launched out there on the end of that peninsula kinda to the right before, when the lake was down. Had to back down in the gravel, but was able to launch a boat.
