Jerry is correct. You will have to launch off the gravel ramp on the peninsula.
-
What does it cost to launch there if you are not a Faulkner co. resident?
-
50 bucks for non county residents.
-
Not sure how anyone would know what county your from, pull up to a gate put in $5 and gate opens, never seen anyone monitoring the gate? Also haven't seen it posted anywhere but may be wrong

The gate use to be broken and was open 24/7 for years, then early this summer they fixed it, put up an automatic pay machine and put someone in the guard booth. I kayak fish and they wouldn't even sell me a permit even though I'm from Conway because I don't have a boat. The guy at the booth told me to just park down the street and walk my kayak to the launch.
So many times I've come there and the booth is empty, thus you can either pay $5 cash to the machine or I have to haul my 60 pound kayak + equipment a good 50 yards to the water. Sometimes though the kids in the booth are nice enough to just wave me through and ask me how I like my kayak.
It's pretty bad when I'd just about rather drive an hour to Nimrod or 30 minutes to Brewer than spend an day there because of the launch hassles -- I enjoy Beaverfork, it's a beautiful lake and the fishing _can_ be quite good. I understand it's a city-owned recreational lake, but for purely selfish reasons I'd love to see that eastern homeowners ramp donated to the AGFC and more fish attractors + stocking. That'll never happen though.
I've got a buddy who owns some property along the east end who said I could launch from his house anytime. I'm just about to take him up on the offer.
As for a report, I was out there on Friday and the lake looked to be about 1 to 1.5 feet down, so I'm guessing it's dropping somewhere around a foot a week. Look for it to be completely drawndown in about a month. The drain on the otherside of Hwy 25 wasn't exactly pouring out buckets of water, so I'm guessing they don't want to send too much water into the Cadron flats at once. No fishing, I only managed to sneak out of the house by telling the wife I was going to let the kids play on the playground so I only got to tour around the swimming area + launch and peninsula.

I am in the property owners assoc, and have access to the eastern ramp but it's not in very good condition and on the shallow end of the lake , I never use it for those reasons, I have never seen anyone at the guard shack when I've been out, launched a boat Thursday afternoon and no one was there!

Oh yes, it's definitely have to be improved. That whole area is a nice flats before the creek, but I can see how launching there might be problematic. Like I said though, purely selfish reasons: it's a perfect kayak launch and it beats the heck out of paddling the ~2 miles there from the city launch.
Most of the fishing boats bee-line it from the launch to that creek area regardless, with the exception of the times the fish are in the deep cover around the valve tower. I rarely, if ever, see anyone on that western side.
