I was out there too when the hurricane force winds hit. I tied up between two trees. It was bad, few rollers came over the bow. As I was sitting there waiting it out I though what the heck and started reaching every spot that I could from where the boat was tied up. Wham caught a 11" keeper. It was the first for the day even though I had been out there all morning. Anyway I put him in the cooler and continued dunking my jig everywhere that I could reach. Bam! A slab hit and I wrestled him over the rollers towards my net. The jig popped out as I was lifting the slab into the boat. I ended up the day with only those two keepers but that is about par for me on Conway. Best I have done so far is six keepers in a single day. Normally it is two or three. I catch lots of just under short fish so I hope they don't die when the finally get to 10".

I have made it my mission to figure out Conway. This is my first year fishing for crappie out there so I have been hitting it hard. I usually go 2-3 days per week. I can't say that I am failing my mission because I do catch a few keepers but I am sure not loading the boat. I consider it a good day if I catch at least 3 keepers. Any less than that & I have to add some boudain to fill out supper & that really isn't a bad thing.
