I tried lake conway this morning
Fished Adams lake area, middle of the lake and the West Bank. Came up empty handed. I tried minnows under a slip cork and a tube jig under a slip cork.
Bought minnows up on 89 and they were dead by 10am.
I am trying to stay away from the bream it is very hard. Water looked awful

Sounds like one of my trips. I keep thinking better luck will be placed upon me one day.
Nimrod they have in the past good guys on here
I just can't put in the time like most
I figure one day I will have a good trip.
It was a beautiful day and my engine ran like a top
I covered more water than I ever have in the past so all in all it wasn't a total wash
The mid lake cypress field get to me I don't know how to approach them, and man there is a lot of stumps in um
Usually the first two weeks in Sept can be tuff...the fish are in a transitional phase from summer into fall patterns or staging spots. This puts them on the move and they will not bite well at all till.... they get settled in again. Allot of times a Nice lengthy cold front spurs them back into action. Welcome to the Grind, stick with it... things can change on a dime this time of year. Good Luck on your next trip.

You gotta keep minners cool. Warm water will kill em which is why bait shops put giant chunks in their tanks this time of year.
I went out Wednesday myself. Fished the cedars bout 50 yards from the ramp, the cedars around the Dix Creek area, and few stumps out in the open area between Adams and Dix. Caught one short crappie from 9:30 to 5:15, then the wind and a storm ran me off. Not like I don' work at it, just don't have a clue. Tried minnows with plain hook and jig tipped with minnows. Two feet, four feet, and 6/8 inches off bottom. I guess I had better luck than you, my minnows I purchased at Bates were still alive at the end of the day, but I leave them in the lake water till I need a new one.
