    I appreciate all the feedback. I have researched this on the web for over a week and found little info and no help. Thank you all!

    FWIW this may be the most informative thread out there concerning lining for flatheads.

    Got my 10/0 hooks today and have some comments...

    GOOD LAWD! If I need a hook this big I'm taking my pistol too!

    Everything I've read recommends circle hooks, so I got them. My concern is that the initial opening is too small. Not crazy about how the barb is bent back either. Went ahead and got the only other hooks they had too... Super J's. I've attached a pic. What are y'all's Name:  image.jpg

    I do like the curcle hoos best. If they are not "offset", offset them before putting them out. I like the J's as well. But circles are my fav

    Remember to use heavy braid if you have it because a heavy hook is useless with light line. I use stainless because they are tough , stay sharp and don't rust. I never use hooks that big but bigger baits require bigger hooks to ensure better hook ups. Since I lfish in current I also use heavy duty swivels on my limblines.     best place for trot lines is in a garbage can
