Thread: Vacation on the Big D

We spent our vacation on Lake Dardanelle with our son and some of my wifes kin folk. Caught some nice crappie, never caught a limit but sure had a good time. Got to meet Mc Daddy, his wife, RL Crappie, his wife, and dog, sure is nice meeting folks from the sight on the water and putting a face with a name. Went over to Lake Nimrod one day, fought the wind for a while and got to talk to Nimrod on the lake. Finally found the fish, caught a bunch (mostly small) but kept enough for a good mess.
It was cool and rained some most every day but it didn't stop us to much. Sunday afternoon we were watching some storm clouds build, so I got out my cell out to look at radar and saw a bunch of purple headed our way. By the time we got poles put up and got to the ramp (the same time as everybody else)it was raining the wind blowing and the tornado alarm was going off. It was surprising how smooth it went with everyone rushing to load and get out of there, all except for the guy who stopped in front of me to tie his boat down and I had to kindly ask him to GET OUT OF THE WAY!!! Was able to get a few pictures.

Missed the picture of the best crappie.

That's a hog there. Glad ya had a good time and kept safe. Congrats.

That siren was not anything but test it goes off every day at noon over there . Good fish.

David it was really great meeting you and Debbie, and thanks for cooking fish for lunch and inviting me to eat with you. Thanks also for helping us get off the lake so quickly when the tornado sirens went off Sunday afternoon. It was certainly legitimate, my phone went off twice saying to take shelter immediately. If you do it again next year holler at me and maybe we can fish together.
