Default 2015 Arkansas Spring Crappie Camp

I had a great time at crappie camp this year. I want to thank Chris (Cmj) for putting this together. I can see now why people are reluctant to organize one if these events. It was a lot of work for Chris and he did a great job! Thanks man! It was great to see familiar faces and great to meet new folks. MacDaddy and Mrs. MachDaddy did an outstanding job of cooking. I don't know how many pounds of fish they fried, but it was a lot. I had a good time visiting with Slab and BillBob. Man they are some good dudes. They would fit right in with us southern folks. The crowd wasn't huge but we still had a great time. We missed those that were chasing the thunder chickens. Hopefully someone will step up and start thinking about next years camp.

I want to second everything D10 said about the Conway Shindig. It was incredible to meet such good folks and enjoy good food. Everyone was super nice and I enjoyed talking to everyone. Cmj is da man and he was even kind enough to freely share some of his Lake Conway crappie secrets with me. Several people shared their fishing knowledge and I am looking forward to spending time on the water with a few of you. The meal was outstanding. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. MacDaddy. A special shout goes out to Slab for starting the site off. Oh yeah, BillBob thanks for the autograph. Last but not least, thank you for the prizes. I am looking forward to the next one.

It was a great time! Thanks to everyone who helped make it possible. A big thank you to Matt for helping with the leg work, and Mr. & Mrs MacDaddy for the great grub! Also thanks to Golden Corral for donating the hot dogs and buns, beans and coleslaw. They have done this for the last three years and it is greatly appreciated. Thanks to all who attended for helping with the arrangements and supplies. There were several people who were not able to make it for various reasons, but there were three in particular who, even though they couldnt make it, felt the need to donate money and/or prizes to show their appreciation to slab and all of the members of crappie.com. Because of them & a few of the site's sponsors, Arkie Jig, Johnson's Lures, Crappie Magnet, and lots of c.c stuff donated by Slab, everybody was able to walk away with a bag of goodies! Thanks again to all who helped make it happen, and a big thanks to Slab for creating and maintaing this site that we all love!

Thanks Chris for all your hard work, if not for you there wouldn't have been a shindig this year. And for providing the crappie, dude you caught some slabs. Sharon and I had a great time, and we hope the cooking met everyone's expectations, it certainly was a pleasure to do it. Thanks D10 for all your help and providing some walleye fillets, they too were great. As always the company was great, and conversations about something we all are passionate about was even better. As far as I'm concerned there was no better place to be tonight, and I've always left better off than when I got there. Thanks Slab for putting together and maintaining a great site. There's no way I can remember everyone I talked to and for fear of leaving someone out I'm not going to try recall them all. Every conversation I had was enjoyable and as always I learned some new things to help put more crappie in the boat. We hope to do it again next year.

A little shout-out to cmj and mac daddy for their work on the camp. My wife and I had other commitments, and couldn't attend, but it sounds like you guys and girls had a good time.

Jacob woke up early with me to clean the fish from camp befor church. Even though we didn't catch the crappie (Cmj did), Jacob wanted his picture made with the impressive fish.
