St Francis river, Lake Hogue, Lake Ashbaugh, Lake Poinsett, Lake Frieson, Lake Walcott, Black River and Lake Wappanocca to name a few close. If you wanna drive a little ways you got Midway, Horseshoe, Norfork, Conway and Reel foot in Tennessee.

The Arkansas Game and Fish web site has lots of info on Northeast arkansas lakes and streams also have maps. Also have a weekly fishing report. We like the Game and Fish lakes, the Black river,The white,Little Red,Creeks and oxbow's. Except during the spring (spawn) we have these lakes to our selfs.Fish (crappie run small) but taste like crappie. Lots of good fishing. Hope this helps. Find your own lake X![]()

I believe that they have it covered, but what type fishing are you accustomed to?
Where do you live in northeast Arkansas?
didnt they open Lake Bono last year, has anyone fished it?
Midsouth Tackle
Been some stocked catfish caught out of Lake Bono, but I don't know if it has any Crappie. It may not even be completely filled yet. Haven't heard anything about a boat ramp or good road to get to it either.

Bono ; haven't determined if it's even gonna hold water for positive yet last reports on local news. Agfc already wants to turn it over to the county already with a minimal contribution per year to maintain it. County has paid for it ,maybe not all of the costs but in conjunction with agfc and the roads/ramps costs are supposedly with agfc and haven't been started yet. Not sure the county is good with the agreements... As for any crappie , stated in an interview on air I heard last fall, they would not be stocking any till this summer.
There are lots of small crappie in Lake Charles also.
