Anyone in NEA having any luck? Going this weekend... still no idea where caught a few before the freeze in the mt bar pits, but I'm sure they are muddy now. Zeroed at the shoe last Sunday. May go back there one day this weekend. Throw a dog a bone!

Lake Bono was a county deal. The county wanted to build the lake then hand it over to the AGFC, not the other way around.
Is winter over yet?

Fishing reports say the crappie are biting at poinsette. Never been there myself though.

Houges up. Not many stumps visible,or fish coming out....had 5 bites Wednesday
I figure were still a couple of weeks from good fishing.

Yup figure so last year I was killing em when the water hit 48. Was the water muddy? I may ride over there in the morning.
Last spring was an exceptional year in NEA, but when there were 100 boats on the lake on a Tuesday, things are a little different than they were last year. These lakes, because of their size cannot support that kind of pressure. The same thing happened at a lake over in Central, AR. It was the same size lake as over here and while it may be possible to go catch a mess of fish, it was not the same as the year before. The internet or just word of mouth is not good for fishing, especially on a small lake. Yes, I have been fishing. No, it has not been good. You can take that as either I'm not good at catching fish, or the fishing is off. Good thing gas is down so a person will be able to make a drive to somewhere else.

RCC I agree with you. Pressure can really hurt smaller bodies of water. One of the oxbows I fish was awesome 2 years ago. The access wasnt great and you had to pay to launch but it was well worth it. On a weekend there might be 5 trucks there. Last year someone built a new ramp with free access and there would be at least 10 or 12 trucks at the ramp, and I heard stories in early march of people catching 100 or more on yoyo's at night. The fishing was terrible I only caught 4 or 5 fish in about 5 trips and everyone else I talked to was saying the same thing. My opinion it got fished out.
A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work..
