    Default Morgan Point

Any of u SE ARK fellows ever do much crappie fishing there? I have been there several times bass fishing and it looks really good to me. Looks like cover should not be a problem with the timber and old river pilings etc.. Like I said before, don't know much at all about crappie fishing. I hope ya'll don't get tired of me asking so many questions. I really hope the weather will change for Saturday so I could meet some of you folks on CC. Maybe Sunday or Monday if not...........JMS

My father in law lives in Tichner. He is always trying to get me to come to that area "when it is right". Meaning most of the time in the Spring as the woods are draining and the water is falling. I have only made it one time, but the water was still too high. I hate fishing in the woods in a current.

However, he catches a bunch of fish where you are talking about. Most of his fishing is in the refuge. He lives on the gravel road leading to Jack's Bay.

Yes, that is one of my favorite fishing places. I do best in spring to early summer, then again in early fall. Right now the deep water right out from the ramp is usually the best. A couple of weeks ago I caught some there in 25 ft of water about 20 ft. deep.

    A bad day of fishing
beats a good day at work.

    Default the river channel

Any body ever fish the river channel below the canal? My father in law is wanting to do some winter fishing there. All of a sudden he thinks I will know how to find them there. Might try some spider rigging. But I understand they can be real deep.

Hey LA, now that you mention it, I went there in early March a couple of years ago and noticed a few people fishing right out in front of the ramp. I really like the way that lake looks. I don't know what it is just something about it. When they start biting there in the spring, I may have to miss a day or two of turkey hunting!............JMS
