I'm no pro but I keep nibbles and a spray on in my tackle bag. Like Greg said, I use the nibbles in the cooler water and spray on when it warms up. I don't spare the spray on either.

DID SOMEONE MENTION BACON!
I fished as a kid and used bacon as a scent,,,, we used to either use a lure and tip the trailer with bacon or just rub it along side of the lure before casting and man did it work wonders,,,,, Of course , those were Yankee largemouth so maybe they need more bacon scent seeing the herring were alittle large for most to eat,,,

I thought all fisherman from arkansas were pros..... So your saying your not now? Oh man,,, I gotta do some soul searching now,,, My wife had me fooled BIGTIME,,,,she grew up in Blythville,,,,lol
Well, just returned from Academy sports in Collierville and bought some Neon Chart and Silver Nibblets... they didn't have any spray in crappie isle,,, I Shoukd have looked elsewhere like bass or trout areas,,, Got out of house for awhile so that accounts for something,,,, stopped in across es street and ate some fried catfish and shrimp at Catfish house there,,,m It was pretty good along with the extra large strawberry cake I had along side her,,,,Maybe try this stuff out at Butler next week if this weather breaks soon,,,, anyone heading to Butla soon? maybe see yall there,,, thanks for the help fellas,,, you'll we're very helpful,,,
I believe in scents and use them all the time. Some work better than others. Berkley Nibbles are hard to beat for crappie.
Not answering your question but relaying a story. Some put a lot of faith in lots of things when it comes to fishing to boost confidence!:fish
I know a guy that was worm fishing for Bass and asked his wife for the fish formula since the bite was slow. She handed him a bottle and he applied some and she put it away. He proceeds to catch a Bass. He then asks his wife again for the bottle of fish formula. She looks for it and can only find a bottle of sun tan lotion. The same one he had used on the worm earlier.:Rofl:Rofl:Rofl

Crappie nibbles on every jig I pull
Remember Alan Carter and Tony Sheppard won the CrappieMaster's classic last fall down there on Washington last year tipping small jigs with Crappie Nibbles. If something works that good in a field of fisherman like that. It works for me. Just common scent's.
