Thread: Interesting Day on Conway

I got to fish with my good buddy Cmj today. It was cold and wet but not too bad. We caught 15-20 keepers but we released them all. I think this is the first time I have ever gone crappie fishing without the intent of keeping them. I know, a crazy concept. No hogs today and the bite was pretty light but we still had a good time. While we were fishing we were told by a fellow angler that he has caught several 4 pounders out of Conway and some over 5 in the Fourche River. Did I mention that he had a blue can in his hand? We also observed a bank full of wannabe anglers violently jerking their rods up under the 89 Bridge. It just so happens that a Wildlife Officer observed this. They were claiming that they were just "jigging hard". So my question to y'all is, if they were using crappie jigs would you consider this snagging or were they just "jigging hard"? We saw them hard jig up several crappie but mostly shad. I don't think any were hooked in the mouth. I'm not sure if they got any tickets, but they left after they were checked. I guess they had a guilty concious.
