Forgive my possible ignorance here but I just do not understand. I have never and never will use yo yo's and or trout lines. I just do not get it. Where is the fun in that? No hunt, no thump and in my opinion no fishing. It kind of reminds me of the ocean. When fishermen use unconventional type of techniques they are usually commercial fishermen and require a special licence to even get fish this way and they are under a whole different set of rules as far as how much can be hauled in and when. I do not think they should be used in man made lakes or reservoirs at all. Maybe large natural lakes and rivers where there is just much more water to cover. Somehow there should be better control by the fines being extremely painful to the pocket book to make people think twice. If you equip your boat properly you can night fish without using yo yo's. For anyone that does use them help me understand why and where the enjoyment is. Sorry guys, I just don't get it. I seen a post in Panama City FL where a vessel used commercial techniques to haul in snapper out of season, When they got caught the where fined for every fish and it was covered in the news. I can insure you the captain of that vessel would have to be one rich man to not think twice about doing that again. Help me understand!
