I went to my little hole by the mayflower dam last night about 2 hours before dark. I caught 8 decent keepers nothing real big 5 little catfish 1 bream and 1 drum jigging about 8-10 ft on black and chart with pink head.

I haven't been up there since september with the water being so low. Just wonder if anyone knows when they are going to start to bring up the water?

The gate gets closed on 12/15 and it will fill back up quick. Closing it too early IMO, needs to be a few good freezes to kill off some of the lilypads and we need the water below the dam for the ducks, but nobody will put me in charge.

Isnt there something they can put in the water that will kill the lilly pads, and not the fish? You would think there would be something..My friend has a pond that is loaded with big bass, but you cant fish it because of the lilly pads He's looked at several options, but he dont want to kill the fish..

Hey TJ, those are some biguns'. What is your average size out there on Conway?

On the herbicides, I do know that they can do some minimal spraying (without adverse effects on the fish), but no where near enough to put a dent in the vegitation at Conway.

Those two were the bigger ones, all the others were 10 to 11...and a bunch of 8's that was thrown back... They wasnt biting rosie reds or the road runner, only the slow roll jig at about 12 feet..Seems the only jig they liked was the red tip, salt and pepper body...

You would think they could do something while the water was so far down..

Like I said TJ it's a little hole and its in plain sight just gotta know where to drop your line. Just got in from work but plan on going out there when I wake up. Should be a good time with the weather fixing to come in and all.
