    Default Horseshoe Lake Arkansas

CEB, I drove by Horseshoe last weekend and had a look see at Pete's old place...was the ramp like you are going to Bruins...they did dredge the ramp, how much i have no idea. It looks fairly deep, maybe 10 foot wide. Where I fished late last spring is dry land The water under the piers at Karefree is about 15 foot under the piers. They will have to bush hog the ramp area before water comes back in.

It seems to me that if we do not get alot of rain this winter and spring and we have another drought like we did last summer, you can forget Horseshoe for a long time, they will have to pump water out of the Mississippi river over the levee into the lake

I forgot my camera grrrrrrr, I will try to remember it this weekend, if the wind is right and I don't have to work, i'm going to try to launch my boat there. I'll try to get by Midway to see what it looks like, i hear it is bad low also. Looks like the state of Mississippi is getting 53 dollars from me next year to fish.

Hey Pox, that's pretty close to what I was thinking. Horseshoe is just a money pit, all they will do is keep throwing money into it. I'm not even sure that I want to go see Midway until it looks like it used to. It's a shame that the, once, fantastic fishing in this part of the state is dwindling. Oh well, at least it forces you to get out and try new waters, you never know what you may stumble upon. I'll be in town until Friday, so I might ride down that way to get a look at Midway and Horseshoe.

I have not heard of anyone personally catching fish on Horseshoe but, AG&F website is reporting so. For the last few weeks too. Who knows, I think I'll try to launch my boat there soon.

Did you get to go by there Chris? What do you think?

Did not make it by there. You know, the break really wasn't a break. More running around than I usually do.:D I'll be making a trip somewhere over that way while I'm home during Christmas. We should meet up sometime while I'm there.

Sounds good. I've got the old 14' flatbottom in WM too.
