What's the highest wind speed that you would consider fishing in? Me personally I dont like fishing anything above 10-12 mph?

At maumelle when the wind is ESE be careful. THe farther across the lake you go the worse the waves get. 15-20 and you're in for a fight.
If I'm trolling (spider rigging), about 10-15 is tops for sure, and that depends on the chop on the lake.
If it's jigging, I don't like to fish in it, but I will fish in 25 mph wind with higher gusts. Wind like that clears the lake out or at least concentrates the boats and I can work some fish over in places that are normally crowded. Make sure your bilge pump is operable in that kind of wind as most likely you will have some water coming over the front of the boat

Reason I was asking is that i plan on fishing lake houge in the morning and I seen the wind is supposed to top out at 17mph. Basically, I just wanted to find out how all Yall deal with the wind.

If jigging, keep your nose in the wind. Spider rigging, drag a weight or use socks. I like socks much better
I was at houge tuseday and it was horrible.i made it till noon and the wind picked up to about 20 to 30 and had to hang it up.
I plan on dragging a chain tomorrow. Kinda new at the technique of it. Wasn't sure it would be very safe in the high winds.

Kmorgan, do you fish houge often and if so what's the most productive way to fish the lake if you don't mind me asking?

My problem is my boat gets blown around pretty good (aluminum tracker) and I always manage to get lines hung up in the prop.
