Thread: spider rig. tying ur rigs

I use the fas snaps as well, but the longer I use them, the more i feel they are a nussiance. THe line can very easily get caught up in the snap and cause "headaches". But they are nice when changing out hooks/critters

I use a one ounce weight on bottom, then come up about 18" and tie a loop in the line for first hook, then up another 18" and tie a second loop for hook #2. I add jig bodies to some of the hooks and leave some with just plain hooks. Just depends on what they are hitting more. If hitting just plain shiner then take some jigs off. Hit they are hitting a particular color more then add more of that color etc... Tip all with shiners tho..

Try the Duolock snap in #1 stainless. thats what i use. My ole fingers wont work those fasnaps anymore.

There are faster, cheaper, and easier ways, but none better. Don't over look the rig with the weight on the bottom. I think it is called a Kentucky rig. I use both.

I usually put the weight and swivels on a 10 or 8 lb and use 6 for the leaders. If you hang, you just lose part of your rig most of the time.

Be sure and powder paint your weight. Occasionally a fish will hit at the weight and knock himself out and you can just dip him up. Saves on minners. If you are curious about the colored weight, just

If you were using those I tie, you would have caught 3x as many. If you have any doubt, gimme a shout and we'll go fish that hole together and see That's a mess of gooduns if they'd a been caught on sewing thread with a safety pin for a hook.

I have fished both rigs for a couple of years just trying to compare the two! !!! Capps & Coleman riggs got a lot more bites and fished the ky.rigs for me! !!!!
