I agree it is a little too early. Don't know why. Back when I used to get to fish, I did pretty good about a mile this side of the marina castin roadrunners to the bank and slowly bringing them back in toward the deeper water. On the otherside and around the two bends from the marina, but, before the bridge, I would cast up on the flats in the stumps then let it fall once it reached the creek bank.
