Default Caught some today, but had to change up.

I went fishing yesterday, but caught mostly little crappie, kept only 3.
Went this morning at daylight and was only catching little ones, there is a 10 inch limit on this lake. About 9:30 I started letting the roadrunner sink more before retrieving and caught my first keeper fish. It was 14.5 in. and weighed 2 lb. and 2 oz. So I put a split shot above the roadrunner so it would run deeper and caught a couple more keepers. But in Cane Creek there are a lot of structure down deeper so I was getting hung up a lot. So I put the same color jighead and tube with nibbles injected in it on, and started fishing 6 to 7 ft. deep. I caught some good crappie. Caught 11 keepers, 5 on the roadrunner and 6 on the jigpole. It got to windy to fish about 12:30, but I really enjoyed the day. I had a beautiful sunrise that I took a picture of, hope you enjoy. Hope y'all had a good day on the water too.

Way to go Jerry! You know, witnessing a sunrise such as that one adds 5 years onto one's life. And the nice catch tacks on another year and a half. Those are some of the darkest black crappie that I've seen outside of spring. That clear water sure does make 'em pretty.

Great job on the photo's! I am planning on making a trip over to lovely Lincoln County before too long. Maybe we can hook up and you can show me a couple of spots to try. I also here Lake Monticello has turned on. Any word on that?

Boy that's a nice mess. I enjoy it when I just get a few. Give them to to in-laws and stay in there good graces. Boy am I ready to go. Got that deer hunt out of the way last weekend and ready for CC next weekend.

I have heard they have been catching some good crappie in lake Monticello but I haven't made it out there yet. It its hard for me to find them in good numbers out there until it gets cold and they go to the real deep holes. Then your fishing 40-50 feet deep.
