    My brother in law and i were fishing Saturday and i asked him how big a crappie had to be to be a Slab? his answer was " i don't know". so i am looking for opinions from you experienced crappie slayers. How big does a crappie have to be to be a slab to you? length or weight or both. thanks JB

    Depends. If my partner catches it, then it needs to be at least 3 pounds and 18" to be considered a slab. If I catch it, then I'd say 15" or 1.75. By the way, I never measure or weigh my fish, so they are all slabs!

    It depends on where I'm fishing. The Lake I fish the most a 1.5 I consider a slab.

    Any fish I catch is a slab to me. Most I think would say it be 1 1/2 to 2 be a slab and a pig anything over that.
    All men are created equal, some work harder in the preseason.
