The slabs are those exceptional ones that seem to freeze when I raise 'em from the water, every fin flared...and always fall back into the lake as I sit there stupefied and staring at their beauty.

Just checking to make sure that everyone is on the same page. Some of these are not "slabs". Which of these would you rather not catch. To me they were all slabs. Feel free to guess weights![]()

The SLAB I know is prolly 6'3" or 6'4" but he won't weigh much over 2!!!!!
This is relative to the water you are fishing, here on Nader if its legal(over 12") its a slab, some lakes that don't fit but it does here.

Based on my research and findings it appears that a "Slab" is always 2 to 3 inches bigger than the biggest one you have caught. In other words it is not a finite number, rather an elusive goal.

A properly measured 14 inch plus fish is a slab.

Depends on where your fishing. A Greers Ferry slab would have just been a "good eater" on Lake Washington last spring.
